Happy End of August yall!
I'm so happy the season is turning. I am SICK of this heat! I'm ready for soup and hot chocolate, and fires.
My August has been the best month of the year so far but not without a little devastation. Let me tell you about it.
Well, Julian was up for a promotion and work but was not chosen for the job he wanted but was offered a chance at another position. He was kind of hurt by it cause he really wanted the other position. But I told him that it was probably best he didn't get the other one because it could be worse than you thought. You didn't get it because it wasn't the right one for him. Hopefully we will know something soon!
My little preteen is driving me up the wall. She has lost privileges to the internet as she was caught on a website I told her she was not yet allowed to access. Its Discord. I told her no to this site because it has a DM. DMs lead to pictures exchanged and eventual sexual talk. She assured me that she would not get on it and even if she did she wouldn't talk sexual. I want to establish trust between us so I go with it. Well, that didn't work. So now with a birthday coming up, she won't be getting the computer she asked for. This child is trying to end me.
As for me, I have a had a great month of intentional self care. I have done a ride/weighted ride everyday this month. Julian has been joining me on and off when his schedule permits. I've lost 8 lbs and gained four pounds of muscle.
We chose to do 30 second calistenics with 30 second jumprope with a 30 second break for 30 minutes. WE BOTH WAS ABOUT TO DIE! Its a different everything from this bike. I had gotten my wind up on the bike and could go longer and heavier on the rides. But these jumping jacks bout took me out! Doesn't matter, we will be adding the calistenics at least once a week.
I've been obsessing over my skincare since not using my own product and I have two that I will be reporting on soon. I've used them religiously and have my favorites pieces out of each line. Coming next issue but I did try some new hair care products! Can you believe it?
Yall know I usually only trust my own stuff but right now the budget doesn't allow for development and I needed a product that will keep my hair looking decent for at least a week and can survive my sweaty, brutal workouts. So I purchased this foam from The Doux. I decided to use it on a dry, blown out hair.
I shampooed my hair with The Matcha Green Tea Shampoo with French Green Clay. My scalp builds up the most terrible dandruff if left unwashed too long and I had cause...tired. But I got it cleansed well and went in with The Pumpkin Deep Moisture Mask as a deep conditioner (it's coming back soon!) and had Julian to blow it out with the revair. Then taking small pumps of the foam, I smoothed it on a section then twisted it up. It dried beautifully, my twists looked so moist and soft. I don't have that hair that looks like a cute style in twist but I wore them for a couple of days until I had somewhere important to go. And the take down was bananas! Super defined and shiny with a light caste of hold. I didn't care for the feeling of the cast but it was soft and not hard so I could deal with it. The twistout got better over the next few days and I end up going two weeks before it started itching. This hair was almost two weeks old! And still looked so good!
On my second wash, same shampoo but this time, I tried out a new mask. It was by Blake Brown (Blake Lively's brand) I was drawn to the packaging (design will get me everytime!) and the scent which is a warm vanilla sandalwood type scent. Smells like fall. Very cream scented and it lasts a long time. I can still smell it 3 days later after 3 sweaty workouts!
I will be posting the take down this week watch for that video! I will detail what I like and don't like about it.
Speaking of videos, I have decided to finally start my youtube over. This one will be Beyond the Tangles and more about me and this journey. I hope you guys will join me there. The old Tangles and Beyond YT will still be there for those who wanna see the roots. Such terrible roots. I don't care what anybody says, I am not proud of who that was on the youtube. Here is the link to that youtube!
I plan to share a lot more on this channel, like my weighted rides, more self care items, stretching for us over 40, less than limber bodies, BTS of Tangles and Beyond, Family Vlogs and an update on what I will forever buy from Fancy Homebody and what I will never get from her again! Just a little bit of everything.
Although I have not been diagnosed with kidney failure, my latest blood work show they are functioning normally, I am treating myself like I have been when it comes to eating better. Less sugar, adding more veggies and fruits. I am eating but limiting protein because I am VERY muscular under all this meat and I don't want to enhance that. I want strong slim muscles. And this belly trimmed.
The Pumpkin Collection drops September 14th! It comes with Fuller's Clay Whipped Pumpkin Shampoo and Pumpkin Deep Moisture Mask made with Pumpkin Seed Oil. A delectable deep nourishing collection that only comes around this time of year! Only for a limited time.
I hope you guys enjoy the vids coming next week. Just so you know, the blog will precede the videos! Thank you for being here!
